How to setup Vortex Wireless with Logic

I can't get the wireless midi working with the Vortex wireless keytar. And, I can't find any documentation on it, so I assume it should be a plug and play thing? When I connect the keytar to my Macbook with USB cable (the Mac is running Logic) it works fine. But, when I connect the wireless dongle to the computer, unplug the USB cable and switch the Vortex to wireless mode (using the power on - button) nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? And, how can I troubleshoot this?

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting. The Vortex Wireless is indeed plug-and-play. It won't require any drivers to communicate with your computer. It's important to note that the Vortex Wireless is a MIDI controller; in other words, it contains no built-in sounds. Instead, the sounds are triggered from your computer and your computer's software. After connecting to the wireless dongle, make sure your track is record-enabled within Logic and that you have a plug loaded on that track.

Check out this helpful guide that will walk you through connecting and configuring a MIDI controller in Logic - How to Connect and Configure a MIDI Controller Guide and Tutorial

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
