How do I change MIDI clock ratio on my SR-16?

I have the SR-16 running together with my midified Korg Monotribe. Unfortunately the clock ratio of both devices is quite different.

Being a MIDI noob I may use some MIDI terms incorrectly but as far as I see, the Korg's 8 Step sequence runs 4x faster than that of the Alesis. It doesn't matter if the Korg sends the MIDI clock to the SR-16 or if the SR-16 clocks the modded Monotribe.

Does anyone have an idea how I could change the clock ratio?

Thanks

  • Hello,

I would like to help. Follow these directions below on how to turn on your MIDI Clock.

SR16 - turning on MIDI clock
    1. Press the MIDI SETUP button.
    2. Using the Page (up and down) buttons move to page 5: 'CLOCK IN' and select 'ON'.
    3. After making all needed changes, press MIDI SETUP again to exit.

  • Thanks Chris. The MIDI clock IN is already ON.

When the Korg sends MIDI signals the Alesis reacts to that, it adapts to speed changes and starts and stops when I start and stop the Korg.

The problem is, that it runs only at a quarter of the speed of the Korg (when the Korg does 8 Steps, the Alesis does only 2). So I need to adjust the ratio somehow. I know this is possible on a number of devices. But I don't know if this is possible on the SR-16.

    Thanks
