  • Hey Edgar, lets make sure your Dm6 is on midi mode. You can follow this:

To select the MIDI output format:
    1. Press PATTERN to enter Pattern Select Mode.
    2. Press VALUE +/- to select "P–N" (internal format, the default setting) or "––N" (GM format).

The internal format is used for the module to function as a sound source. "Program change" and "Note on/off" messages will be transmitted in this mode. This is the default mode

---->****The GM format is used when the module is connected to a computer. In this format, you can use DM6 as a trigger-to-MIDI interface, triggering sounds from your favorite drum module software. Only "Note on/off" messages will be transmitted in this mode. (Also, the metronome and music that accompanies Patterns will not be sent, since it is not MIDI information.)****

Let me know where that gets you.

    • Hello,

I recommend using a PC with this v06 update as it may update significantly better with this OS. Try it out again on a PC with these v06 update notes:

To Update Firmware (Windows 7/Vista/XP only):

      1. Click the Start (Windows logo) button on the Taskbar.

      2. Select "All Programs."

      3. In the "Alesis Firmware Update" folder, select "Alesis Firmware Update." The Firmware Updater will open.

      4. Click the "Model" drop-down menu, and choose "DM6."

      5. Click the "MIDI In Device" drop-down menu, and select "e-drum." Do the same for the "MIDI Out Device."

      6. Click the "Data Path" drop-down menu. Locate the DM6 firmware file you would like to use for this update, and click "Open."

      7. Optional: If you would like a verification test, check the "Verify" box.

      8. Click the "Update" button.

*** Do not disconnect the DM6 module from your computer or from its power source during this process. Doing so could damage your unit. ***

      8. Your computer will notify you when the firmware update is complete.
