Midiverb power supply

Hi

I've got a Midiverb 4. Since I do live gigs with this device, I unplug and roll the cable of the power supply often. After a while, the cable loosens from the AC unit, and of course the Midiverb doesn't work anymore. Since these things don't have screws, I can not open it and re-attacht the power cable, and I am obliged to buy a new power supply. Recently I needed urgently a fast solution, 'cause I had a gig, and used a common AC-DC adapter that you can switch to different voltages.
When I switch it to 9V, the midi verb switches on and seems to be working but it doesn't process any sound. Is this possible? In other words, is it possible that the unit switches on and doesn't process any sound because it doesn't have the original power supply ? Or is there another problem? The sound sources from my mixing console are checked with another device and do work.

Thanks for checking this out,

Peter

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting Peter. I would like to help. The legacy MidiVerb 4 is one of our older digital effects processors. If during time of use, the power cable becomes worn out through use of the owner, basically wear and tear, this is not covered under Alesis's warranty. There's only a 1 year manufacturer warranty for Alesis products when purchased new from an authorized Alesis dealer.

I recommend purchasing another power supply from us. The MidiVerb 4 uses a 9V AC 830mA. We still currently sell the power supply if you want another one. The part number is P3. You can reach our parts department at 401-658-3131 ext. 1407 to order another one.

If you need to service the unit, then please contact one of our three authorized non warranty facilities below.
