My DM10 is triggering without being struck

I have a DM10 Pro Kit with Surge cymbals used for my church. Recently it has been experiencing ghosting in the ride (both inputs) - where it plays and nobody is near it. I currently have had to unplug the ride all together (which is not ideal). I have preformed a reset and still having the problem. Any suggestions?

  • Hi Tim,

Thanks for posting. Sorry you're having problems with your DM10.

Have you tried adjusting your sensitivity and threshold settings at all? While the threshold is similar to the sensitivity, the difference is that there will be no sound from the pad until it's hit with a certain amount of force.

    To adjust your sensitivity:

    1. From the main screen, press the EXT TRIG button.
    2. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight the Input field.
Once the Input field is highlighted, use the VALUE/TEMPO dial to choose the trigger you want to adjust.
(ie. If you would like to adjust the main head area of the snare drum, choose SnrHd. If you want to adjust the snare drum rim area, choose SnrRim, etc.)
    3. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight the Sensitivty field.
    4. Use the VALUE/TEMPO dial to increase or decrease the sensitivity of the affected trigger.
    5. Press the DRUM KIT button to return to the main screen.

    To adjust your threshold:

    3. Press F2 (TRIG).
    4. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight the Threshold field.
    5. Use the VALUE/TEMPO dial to increase or decrease the Threshold setting of the affected trigger.
    6. Press the DRUM KIT button to return to the main screen.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions.
