Please can someone help me... I'm having problems with my Alesis DM5 module

I have tried re initialising my module without success .
The screen can display random pictograms or be blank but differs every time I switch it on. Ocassionally I get a 'Rom Test' message displayed and ocassionlally see the unit processing but it will not boot up so I cannot reset to factory settings.
I have opened the module up as my father mentioned there was an internal battery but the battery seems soldered in and beyond my capabilities to exchange without damaging the unit. Does the battery sound like the problem from experiences by other users ? I'm not sure it will be cost effective to be repaired and was hoping for advice.
Thanks in advance

  • Hi Garry,

Thanks for posting about your legacy DM5.

If you're unable to perform a factory reset, you may need to service your product.

Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction. Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alesis Support Page.  Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.

    or

I hope this helps!  Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Thanks for the advice Bill, I'll weigh up my options between a service or another second hand model. Thanks again
