  • Hello,

    Thanks for posting.

There is not currently an option to perform a factory reset on the Surge Mesh Kit at this time. However, I'll be happy to submit this to my team as a feature request for you.

  • Hi, I ask because I just bought the Surge Mesh kit and I immediately realized that the battery listening volume is very low for all the preset kits. During training the battery volume, even if set to maximum, is very low both in the headphones (I used several headphones) and in the speakers. The volume is so low that I can hear the noise of the pads stronger when they are hit than the sound.
I'd like to know how to solve the problem, maybe it can depend on the settings of the Drum Module? That's why I wanted to know about the factory reset job.
I await your directions, thanks for the support

  • I have the same issue. I bought my kit in March. I have opened a number of support tickets and no one is answering. They close the tickets and send me a survey of how they did at fixing the issue. I would suggest returning your kit if it's still an option and buy something else. My kit is almost useless. I'm out well over $500 and was told I can't return it now because of the use. Retailer told me I need to have Alesis take care of the issue. The support sucks.

  • These are rebranded modules .
    Factory reset.... try
Hold the < and > arrow buttons simultaneously while powering on the unit.
The screen will show "RST---" for one second.

I don't have this particular module, however I do have a number of similar modules.
Press "KIT" See if there is a "3" band EQ just below volume level adjustment.
Some of these modules the EQ is ...Low...Middle. ..High or EQL..EQM..EQH.
The bands don't affect freqencies, they increase the amplitude in the particular EQ range.-12(dB) to +12(dB)

I have gotten good results on some modules by adjusting all the EQ/Voice volume with a lower overall Volume level so you still have some control.
If you want a starting point...max out the EQ's..Volume all the way down
    (Especially when using headphones)
Then increase the volume level until it clips/distorts,then lower the EQ's evenly.
Repeat this until max volume setting on the module has no clipping/distortion.

There is no standard setting for doing this as everyone monitors differently.
There are multitudes of headphones (different Freq's)soundcards, amplifies etc.
If you still can't achieve the desired Kit volume level/control you can also go into each individual voice and increase it's volume also.
A combination of doing both gets very good results.
The more time you spend doing this....the better the results.
Make a note or take a screen pic with your phone of your settings incase you ever do a factory restore.

    Don't forget to "Save"

  • Hi, thanks for the answers.
In particular I would like to tell Chaser that the solution he indicated I have already tried and actually works. Volumes become good in headphones after increasing the low, high and medium values of the equalizer without any audio distortion.
My question is this: does the solution of increasing the equalizer volumes, even if it works, hide a factory defect? Why are the pre-set volumes very low?
I have read many posts with this problem and I can't think that all the controllers are defective it seems to me a big problem for Alesis.
Could an Alesis technician answer these questions? The assistance service of a large company should always respond to its customers.
