Screw stuck in drum head in Alesis Nitro Drum Module

was trying to change the heads for my left handed child in my Alesis Nitro Drum Module and the screw got stuck inside the drum head. Any ideas what I can do to bring it out?
Many thanks

  • Hi Neda,

    Thanks for posting.

If there is a screw stuck inside of your drum head, the following steps on how to replace the mesh drum head may help you with getting the screw out:

    1. Remove hoop/rim.

    2. Remove old mesh head.

    3. “Seat” new mesh head. Before putting hoop back on top, ensure the new mesh head is sitting evenly around the drum by lightly pulling it over the edge. You do not need to apply a lot of pressure, as the hoops will do this later.

    4. Place hoop back on top of mesh head, making sure it is sitting evenly.

    5. Replace tension rods and finger tighten each one so they are just starting to pull down the hoop.

    6. Once finger tightened, use a drum key to tension the rods further using half turns (180 degrees) on each rod at a time. It is okay to tension rods in a “circular” pattern around the head, but it’s easier to use a “star” pattern:

    *Tension a rod
*Tension the rod directly across from it (opposite side of the head)
*Move two spaces to the left or right and tension that rod (on drums with 4 tension rods, only move one space)
*Tensions the rod directly across from it
*Move two spaces to the left or right.... (repeat)

    7. Repeat this until there are no visible “wrinkles” in the mesh head. Overall, looking for wrinkles is the best indicator of even tension throughout this whole process. If you find there are still wrinkles near one rod no matter how much you tension, do not continue to tighten. Remove the hoop and re-seat the head.

    8. That’s it! After this point, you can tension higher according to your preference using the above technique.

    I hope this helps!

  • can you upload some photos to see the stuck position of the screw?
