I’m disappointed

Sound too large

Samplepad Pro.

I've put a wav through the alesis converter. assigned it to a pad. worked great.

Now i was adding new sounds to the SD-card. Put it back in the samplepad, tried to play the same 'song' and it now says Sound to large ?

Why is this? i know there's limited space and such but it worked before.

I also have some problems when i want to use a newer (faster) SD-card.

this realy sucks. can you please help me?

  • Hi Mark,

    Thanks for posting.

    What is the size and file type of the SD card being used in your SamplePad Pro?
    Please keep the following in mind:

    The sample files must be 16-bit, mono or stereo .WAV files with a sample rate of 48K, 44.1K, 32K, 22.05K, or 11.025K.

    The .WAV file must be located in the root (main) directory of the card and not in any folders.
    We recommend formatting your SD card to a FAT32 file system (if it is not already) and naming your sample files according to this format. Basically, this means:
    * Do not use these characters: " * / \ : < > ? |
    * Do not use spaces.
    * Limit your file name to 8 characters (excluding the file extension, ".WAV").
    * You can assign up to 48 MB worth of samples per kit (the sample library on your SD card can be larger, of course). Also, please note that a sample's size will be rounded up when loaded (e.g., a 2.1 MB sample on the SD card will be treated as a 3 MB sample when it is assigned to a pad).
    * The max number of files that can be located in the root directory is 512.

    Hello, i've tried everything, still giving the note 'sound file too large'. Here's whats happend.

    I've rendered the sample in 32K. its now 17MB.
    the second sound (which didn't gave issues yesterday) is still 25MB
    So together well under 48. The should be going well in one kit.
    I tried that, didn't work.

    so i tried putting the 17MB file in the second kit, while leaving the first kit completely blank. it played well. i returned too the first kit, load the 25MB file up (while the other pads are completly blank, one used to stop all), and it says sound file too large.

    I've runned out of patience. Please help.

    (all the things you've said before i've done).

    I guess the problem is that the sounds are too big together (even when uploaded in different kits).

    i'm trying to get the second file into 32K render. it's gonna be 19MB afterwards. i'm gonna try that now, if it doesn't work i'll be here tomorrow again!

  • Let me know how this goes, Mark. Do you have any smaller files that you can try using with your SamplePad Pro?
