Sounds are different on the pad than on my computer or SD card

My recently bought sample pad pro doesn't like it when I put my own sounds on it. Whenever I put my own sounds on to the sample pad, they are really treble-y and sometimes hurt my ears. Sometimes the sound is changed too. Do you know how to fix this or if I got a defective product?

  • Hi Andre,

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles you're experiencing.

Since the file format has to be a very specific one for the Samplepad Pro to properly read it, it could be that you may need to use our Samplepad Pro Converter software just to make sure those samples will be read correctly by your unit. This software can be downloaded with the link below:

    Alesis SampleConverter Utility v1.1.5 (Windows)

    Alesis SampleConverter Utility v1.1.5 (Mac)

Is it only happening with very specific samples? If so, the Converter should help with this.

If you continue to have trouble, this may indicate a problem with the hardware. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum but I can point you in the right direction. Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alesis Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.

    or

    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.

Make sure to reference or link this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
