Strike module - mapped user samples not showing up

After mapping user samples through Strike Editor (1.1.2) and saving them as a user instrument, when I go to assign the instrument voice to a trigger they’re not showing up in the Strike module (1.4) at all. Editor sees them and the sample .wav and .sin files are also visible on the SD card via Mac or Windows - it’s just the module interface that’s not able to see them or allow for selection. Anyone else have this issue and/or have a fix?

I’ve reflashed the module firmware (1.4). Reloaded editor (1.1.2). Checked the SD card from a Mac and from a Windows PC. Everything is there UNTIL I go looking for it in the module. WTF?!?!

  • So nothing from the Alesis team??? I need to know whether or not it's a module issue - and if so, what the replacement plan is. I've owned this kit for 5 weeks, so it's not like it's been beaten and battered. Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Figured I'd update my own post in case anyone has the same issue...

There's an undocumented issue with naming custom user samples and using ANY kind of special character. In my case, I was using the " symbol to call out the inch diameter of my shells and cymbals. It's really frustrating because I spent 2 weeks troubleshooting, contacting Alesis support with literally ZERO call back for over a week, and in the end just had to figure it out myself. I remember reading that Alesis support was great once, and it was part of my decision to go with this kit, but this has certainly been a less than stellar experience...

Alesis - if you're even bothering to read any of these support issue posts - please be a little more responsive and at least act like you guys care about whether your customers are having any problems. Even your email support took way too long to just respond. To the point that I was sent a customer satisfaction survey before anyone even reached out.

I really do love what this module and kit "could" be, but I really hope that you guys are working on improving a lot of the quirks and issues that we users have run into and I hope that the plan is to up your game and especially your user support.
