Strike Pro kits

Having owned a strike pro kit for some time now I have noticed that I mainly play with one kit that I have created myself. I'm still tweaking it and occasionally add or asign new sounds or instruments to drum rims etc. I was wondering what kits other owners prefer and what they have done to fine tune them. Are there any kits that you find especially good or bad if so why?As well as my own created kit I like the EDM for a good fast exercise workout and the 'Indian music' Tablas kit for a slow chill out. Got any suggestions?

  • I play so many of them its crazy. I like most of the rock kits. You find many of the rock kits share the same toms and kicks even sometimes. Still my favorite stuff is what I actually purchased, and put into the module myself. Drumwerks.com is my favorite place to gets samples to put on the module. I was never huge on most of the stock kicks. Especially with the best ones being corrupted in the module and they don't work right. And attempts to use them can have really bad side effects. My favorite kits is the bay area 2 kit drumwerks sells. Really punchy and the attack of the toms is insane. But their metal and rock kick pack was a real nice addition as well. My main kit if using a stock sound is 033 rocker man with imported kicks. As far as tweaking the sounds, the secrets are in the velocity settings.

  • Hi Tim thanks for the reply. I'm especially interested in the drumwerks.com I'll check it out. I never even thought of looking to buy samples. I'm glad I posted this thread as I can look into what else is available. That doesn't mean I'm not happy with what I've got it just opens up more options. I like the sound of the Bay Area 2 Toms so I'll have a listen......... Thanks again shuxpower.

  • That kit is awesome. Just note it only has 2 toms but you can do a full kit if you tune the existing toms which I find works quite well. The other thing is the samples can be reduced in quality slightly if you find you are running out of mb when making kits. I use Faasoft. You don't need to pay to use it. Though it reminds you to buy a license every time you use it. This will convert the whole kit of samples in three minutes which is mostly you just putting the folders of samples into it. The actual process to do all the bay area kit was 5 seconds.
