I’m frustrated

User Bank corrupted on my QS 6.2!

Recently I had my user bank get corrupted on my QS 6.2.
I am devastated by this as I am not very tech savvy to fix this!
I've googled this problem and found that I could just download the original SysEx User Bank file and supposedly load that onto my Alesis via a MIDI interface and MIDI software and it would solve my problem but I can't get it to work!

I have a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.12.5.
I downloaded SysEx Librarian.
My MIDI interface is a VICTSING USB IN-OUT MIDI Cable Converter PC to Music Keyboard Adapter Cord.
I downloaded the SysEx file from a knowledgeable guy on The FrugalNoodle.com and followed all the directions given but I can't get my Alesis to recognize the midi signals.
I've read the online manual for loading sounds via MIDI onto the Alesis and I think I've done everything it said properly but I still can't get it to work!

PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!! No gigs in the immediate future but I want to see if I can even fix this problem, whether I need a new battery OR if there's NO way to get the original user banks back. One other idea is if I can do a dump of the user bank sounds on my 88 Key Alesis QS 8.1 to my QS 6.2.
My last resort is to buy another one and hope that it has the exact same sounds!
Thanks, Dave

  • Hi Werner,

Thanks for posting about your legacy QS6.2.

It sounds like your product may need to be serviced. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum, but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alesis Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.

    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.

Make sure to reference or link this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
