Variable SR-16 velocity sensitivity

I just picked up an SR-16 through Reverb, and had a good first session with it yesterday. Two initial observations:

1. I checked the firmware version as 3.00, but I can't find any information on the Alesis website about whether this is current.

2. I found the sensitivity/response to tapping the pads very variable. I had to hit the pads quite hard to get a decent volume, and some pads wouldn't go above a whisper at all. I ended up setting a fixed velocity of 8 to make it usable. Is there something wrong with the hardware, or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks for posting!

There is no need to update the firmware on this product, we have not released an update in some time now. If the velocity is better with that curve then no, there is nothing wrong with the hardware, the unit seems to be working as it should. Keep in mind, this is an older product. It will not be as responsive as some pad controllers that are out in the market today.

    Hope this helps!
