I’m frustrated

Volume for all the drums dm6 is too low.

I've followed all instructions as I understand them and I can't get the volume on the drums to play loud enough.

And, I'm having trouble getting it to play on a speaker.

I'm also having trouble getting the entire set to stay in place. The arm three items on it is loose and falls forward no matter how hard I tighten it.

I guess what I'm saying is I need way more basic instructions!!

  • Hello Laura,

Thanks for the post. I'd like to help! On the DM6, you can adjust the volume of individual pads relative to each other. To make the snare louder, you can turn all the other drums down a little bit. Experiment until you find a volume that suits you.

Adjusting the volume of individual pads on the DM6:

    1. Press Voice.
    2. Then press Volume.
    3. Strike the pad you would like to adjust.
    4. Then use the + and - buttons to adjust the volume of the individual pad.
    5. To adjust another pad, strike that pad, and repeat step 4 above.

Make sure you're connecting from the 1/8" master output of the DM6 to an amp or speaker that supports this type of connection.

As for your drum setup, the assembly guide that's included is currently what we have for your setup. If you need someone to help walk you through the setup then call into technical support by logging onto www. alesis.comm/support.

Try all of this out and let me know how it goes!
