I’m frustrated

when playing DM6 centre bar keeps coming loose and rotating so that drum pads go lower and lower

When playing my DM6 kit the centre bar rotates when I am hitting the pads (it doesn't require much pressure) until all the connected pads and symbols fall forward (clockwise). I can not play for longer than a few minutes.

I have tightened all the butterfly screws on individual pads etc but makes no difference . I can not find a way of tightening the clamps holding the bar in place - but they already seem to be as tight as they will go.

Thought about drilling a hole through and permanently fixing it in place - anyone have a solution?

  • Strange!... I never had this problem with the DM6! However; I do have a suggestion for you! Place some electrical or duct tape - preferably duct - around the bar where it is inserted into clamp. This will thicken the area where it gets tightened! Thus you "should" get a much tighter fit, which "should" solve the problem.

You could also use Plumbers Tape! I found the DM6 insufficient for my drumming needs shortly after it was given to me. Mine is for sale at $375.00 with many extra's that do not come with it standard! I upgraded first to a DM7X which was far superior! However; I was still not satisfied! I then upgraded to a DM10 with real heads, as I do not care for the mesh! I maxed out the DM10 and am happy with it! The DM7X with extra's - maxed out is for sale at $575.00 LOL. The DM10 is not for sale! I am however waiting to see what the new module will do for me in the way of additions, etc.... My DM10 is Maxed Out! 5 cymbals: 1 14" triple zone ride, 2 10" Crash's, 1 8" Crash and the fancy hi-hat! 6 Drums: 4 Toms, 1 Snare, ! bass with Double base Pedal. Over all that adds up to 11 piece's. I await very impatiently the Wonders of the new Module coming out - with spec's as yet unpublished!
