Which triggers or separate digital drums work infallibly with SamplePad Pro?

  • My drummer has been using the SPP for a while now as his only drum device during rehearsals and gigs and we think it’s time to upgrade with triggers and/or separate drums. That is: we don’t want a whole kit, but either use triggers on his own drums with silent skins (preferable solution) or some of your mesh drums or other parts that would upgrade playability and feel for a traditional drummer such has him.

What are the options? Please don’t link to older posts on the subject because more than a few of them are not straight forward enough and clear on the subject.

    Kindly,
    Joachim

  • Hi Joachim,

    Thanks for posting.

The PAD 1 1/4" input will allow you to connect a standard dual-zone pad to be connected. The PAD 2 1/4" input will allow a standard single-zone pad to be connected.  This is also in addition to additional inputs for a kick pedal, a hi-hat pedal, and a footswitch.

    • Ok. Because haven’t seen any Alesis triggers? Does what you wrote mean that I could use drum parts from Roland or any of the other big brand electronic drum manufacturers? I haven’t found any shop in Sweden where I live that sell, say, mesh parts.
    • You can, but this is not officially supported.
