  • Hello,

    Thanks for posting.

We have not officially tested this particular pedal with the Nitro Mesh Kit. However, you should be able to use virtually any kick pedal with your kit. However, keep in mind that felt beaters should not be used on mesh kits, as the friction of the felt material will eventually eat away at the mesh and cause it to tear.

    I hope this helps!

    • Bill R. I don't understand your comment? I just bought a brand new Nitro Mesh kit and while my snare and tom heads are mesh, the bass drum has a 6" rubber surface so why would felt beaters matter? I also purchased a brand new PDP 502 dual chain double bass pedal. Both beaters will only fit the pad if I attach the pedal all the way to the right side of the bass drum stand, making it not very stable. As mentioned below, I also had many missed triggers. I don't think saying virtually any double pedal will fit this is an accurate statement. My only solution was to attach the pedal directly in the middle of bass drum stand, then slightly bend the left beater and lower the right beater. They now both fully hit the pad and in different locations. No more missed triggers and this did not negatively effect performance of the pedal or response of the beaters. I don't think any of this would have been an issue if the kit came with an 8" mesh bass drum pad.

  • From what I have heard double bass pedals will work if the beaters are closer together. The only problem I have seen tho is that if you are trying to do fast dbl bass the brain will not be able to keep up with the amount of strikes. I personally am going to get another kick drum tower to resolve this. Hope this helps give a little perspective instead of buying the Demonator which costs more than the whole set most likely.
