Windows 7 64 Bit Problems with Alesis MutilMix12 FireWire

Hi There

I seem to be finding many conflicting posts regarding getting to the Alesis MultiMix12 FireWire working with Windows 7

I had it working with Windows XP with on old acer laptop that had a firewire port. However it finally packed up and I had to get a new computer

When i saw Alesis had a Windows 7 driver I assumed I could go out and get a PC with Windows 7

I have installed a firewire card. I have installed the Windows 7 64bit drivers. The Alesis Driver Version is 3.5.3.8671

When you connect the device you can hear the usual tone for the device is connected and the driver installs successfully. When you open the Alesis FireWire application it shows the device is connected as Alesis MultiMix

However the status has Unlocked and shows a warning exclamation mark and i am unable to select the sample rate drop down says (no choices)

Can anyone assist me with this. And what program I can use to do recordings with the product. So far I have tried to get it working with Reaper and Cubase unsuccessfully.

Reaper gives an error on audio hardware and Cubase sees the Alesis Driver but does not seem to be recording any sound inputs or there is no sound coming through the device?

Please assist

Thanks in advance

  • Hi Thyran,

    Thanks for posting.

The MultiMix 12 FireWire is supported for use on Windows 7.

The MultiMix 12 FireWire is a standard mixer that can be used in virtually any DAW. If you're experiencing the errors that you mention in Cubase and Reaper, this usually indicates the hardware is not being properly recognized by your computer.

However the status has Unlocked and shows a warning exclamation mark and i am unable to select the sample rate drop down says (no choices)
Can you post a screenshot of this, please?
