Wireless Vortex 2 turns on and off repeatedly when used wirelessly

SO I bought my vortex wireless 2 back end of November in a black Friday sale (UK based) and I've only really got around to playing with it. Last night was only the second time playing it and 5 minutes in, the keytar seems to turn itself off and on again repeatedly. I'll be playing something and then all the lights go off for a second, then come back on for a few seconds then go off again and repeat. All the while the last note(s) I played hang. The only solution seems to be turn it off and on again.

I only seem to get this problem when using the keytar with the wireless dongle. When I plug in via the USB cable, I don't seem to get this problem.

I'm using it with the included Ableton with some stock sounds (Haven't quite figured out how to use it in conjunction with Kontakt and TH3 yet!)

On a side note, there is always a noticeable lag/latency when playing, especially noticeable when playing fast things. Not sure if it’s the vst sound on ableton or the keytar.
My laptop runs windows 10 and has an i7 processor and 16GB RAM, it’s a pretty decent spec.

Anybody else had similar problems with the on/off thing? Wrote to Alesis support but just awaiting a response.
