Would be nice to have a place to trade SYSEx files on the forum for DM8

With all the modding that I have done to my brain to get it right, It would be nice to have a place to trade SYSEx files online in this forum or elsewhere for our brains.

This could save people considerable hours in some cases like mine.
And also in a way widens the variety of sounds available to users

just one example: I found ALL the snare rim sounds too LOUD, because of course the snare rim is a switch not piezo, so its on or off, no dynamics involved. so I lowered all the rim sounds down a tad.

note: Midiox.com is DOWN DOWN DOWN. so it was lots of fun to find a copy of it out there. At least a clean one. That would be nice to have available on the forum somewhere too.

  • Yeah that would make many user happy. You are welcome to post it here but I can't add sections to the forum like that because this is only a template from the company "Get Satisfaction."

    Hi SubZerQQ,

You can post your SYSEx files for the DM8 over at DMdrummer.com. We already have a few DM10 owners who have done just that. Plus, while you're there you will find great tips and trick to use with your DM8/DM10. If you do decide to post your sysex files over at DMdrummer.com, I would suggest you put your topic in this section of the forum:

    VST, MIDI, & Recording

I hope that helps and I look forward to seeing you over at DMdrummer.com. ;-)

  • Actually, we don't have a DM8 sysex exchange area yet, but if you sign up to be a member (which is free) you can start your own topic for that reason. I can then make that area a sticky if you wish. We already have a DM10 sysex/dmk exchange area:

DM10 Custom User Kit Downloads Area

You can only see the download files if you are a member and logged in. Also, if you are wondering what a ".dmk" file is, you might want to check out is topic:

    Introducing DMEditor (now version 1.1!)

Since alesis never released a kit edit tool that work thru your computer for the DM10 & DM8, one of DMdrummer.com's members decided to program one himself. It's quickly becoming the way to program the DM10/DM8 drum module. The best part about it is, DMeditor is free and allows you to trade one kit at a time if you wish.

I'm glad you like DMdrummer.com. We are user ran and have been around since July of 2009. We are now the number one resource for Alesis drum users on the net. I hope I see you around.
