Power Light and WOL

Just got a T1. Seems very nice. I have two questions. Does it have a power light? At the moment, I can only tell from the hard drive light if it's on.

Second question, with the WOL, is there a good client for Ubuntu for waking the machine up?

  • The T1 does have a bright blue power LED which is next to the HDD LED, but because some of our regular customers have given us feedback that the LED light is a little too bright we disconnect it for them. It's possible your T1 was not connected as well, which is our mistake. If you need it connected please email support@aleutia.com and we'll help you get that taken care of.

As for your second questions regarding WOL and Ubuntu, here is a link to Ubuntu Forum's (a great knowledge base) that should be able to help:

  • Okay, will send email, no worries. Not a big deal, but I have to look at the network card to know the machine is on!

I'm a constant user of the ubuntu forums, although I found getting WOL working a pain. I'll have a go with these instructions.

Nice machine, btw. Starting to test it out a bit more heavily now, but so far it seems to be doing exactly the sort of things that I bought it for!

    I’m happy
It is difficult to tell when the T1 is on since it's completely silent! The power light is pretty important but as I said some customers have found it too bright! We're working on a revision to correct this so it doesn't have to be too bright or completely off. Glad the HDD or network lights work for you for now.

Glad you like it, it's our best selling PC by far, although the T2 Pro is quickly catching up. Let us know if there is anything else we can help with.
