AMG: RIP

Excerpt from previous edition of my online book:
"Their exhaustive website at www.allmusic.com is the place to go to learn about any artist on My List who you are unfamiliar with. You'll get a full description, history and discography. I've found entries on everyone I've looked up, even some who've been out of print for decades."
New edition:
"...Their website can no longer be recommended, regrettably. Recent changes have made the site into a consumer guide for buyers and its value as a reference is now nil. Basic searches for such simple topics as artist discographies are now frustrated by incomplete and inaccurate entries, cluttered by gaudy graphics and advertisements."

You're hearing this a lot: "I used to tell everybody about AMG's site but I can't do that now."
Why don't you care? Because you are in thrall to your sponsors and advertisers and it's more important to make them happy than to do it right.

Personally, I'd like to know where I can find a site comparable to your old design. I sincerely hope I can find one!
