The biography of The Beastie Boys is incorrect. In it, you claim that they were "being attacked from the right". This is untrue.

If you were alive back then and a music fan, you would know that it was Tipper and Al Gore, Tipper mostly, that was attacking music groups such as the Beastie Boys, Anthrax, Guns N' Roses and others.

Tipper Gore was furiously going after record companies threatening lawsuits, boycotts and other things. We have this useless, ignorant attack on free speech and the rabid push for censorship to thank for that all too familiar "Parental Advisory" sticker on albums. Even forcing some bands to change their album covers entirely...such as GnR's album.

Anthrax's song "Starting Up A Posse" is their response to Tipper Gore and the LEFT that was going nuts in the 80s about "dangerous music".

Please be a little more accurate.

Hi Paul,
Yep. The Beastie Boys were pretty high up on the PMRC's hit list, but your point is accurate. Since the PMRC was made up of people from both parties and ideologies the blame cannot fall completely on the right.

We'll take a look at the text and make the appropriate changes.
