Bulk upload collection in csv format

Is it possible to bulk upload my collection from a csv formatted file? I've already listed my extensive collection in another app, and this took weeks, so I'd rather not do that labour again.

Hi Andrew,
Unfortunately there isn't a method for batch import from a text file or from other music services for a couple of reasons.

The albums in your csv file (or from your iTunes library or that you listen to onĀ Last.fm or have Liked on Facebook) and the AllMusic database don't necessarily have enough lines of connection for this to be practical from a developmental/programming perspective. For example, our system's internal code for organizing information on Kanye West might be "12345678" and the Facebook version could be "87654321," and manually linking tens or hundreds of thousands of artists to their Facebook pages/iTunes entries, etc is not something we're capable of doing.

The possibility of doing automated string matches on album title+artist name between your csv and our database isn't impossible, but it usually involves some kind of manual cleanup process (If you have Elton John's "Greatest Hits" in your collection, is it the single disc version from 1974, or the double-disc version from 1992, or any number of other versions?). If you call your field "Artist" and we call our field "Name" that would need to be reconciled before starting the upload.

Writing a program to try to reconcile fieldnames, do an automated text match and then creating a tool to clean up any inconsistencies or possible duplicates can be solved, but it is a project we have not prioritized up to this point.

Thanks for your interest.
