Deleting links is annoying because of pop-in

Delete causes "thank you for your contribution pop-in", broken-link causes "thank you! ajax"

Deleting a link is annoying because of the pop-in, why not do the same as for the broken-link selection and just give a quick "thank you".

Hi Florian, thanks for your feedback! The reason for the current set up is that when a user clicks 'mark as broken,' the link is simply reported for our team to check and remove as needed. When a user clicks 'remove,' the link is immediately removed from the system, and this can often become a spam issue, therefore slowing down multiple link removals by having that extra thank you popup is helpful to us in spam prevention.

The site's always a work in progress so this system will continue to evolve, so we'll certainly keep this feedback in mind as we continue to update the site!

How much statistics do you have on users? Surely you can spot which users have a high reputation and trust-worthy.

Why immediately delete the links? Why not see if some other unrelated users agree and delete it too. Then giving the original user more reputation.

Give reputation for how often a user uses sidereel, contributes links, reports links broken (correctly), and delete's links (correctly).

Rig a system that says a link can be deleted once X votes have been cast at it, and give users with higher reputation more votes.

Why not also be able to give a link a thumbs-up to say its working and promote it higher in the list?

In the end all the suggestions total too #1 less work on you guys, #2 it's less annoying for me to delete links (and discouraging not only for spammers, but for people like me trying to help), #3 encourages users to contribute more.

Also, why not allow a user to un-report a link broken? I will sometimes be scrolling with two-fingers on my laptop and accidental click "broken link", never have accidentally deleted delete link though.

Great suggestions, thanks! We have considered a rating or thumbs up/thumbs down kind of system for links, so thoughts on updating the system in this way are in the works. We'll add your ideas to the pot as while preventing and fighting spam is very important to us, of course encouraging good user participation is as well.
