Discography - size of entries

In the old site the entries in any list were almost comically tiny. Despite this being visually unattractive, it was extremely useful for at-a-glance album rating comparisons and other similar comparisons between entries.

It's nice that the new site allows you to see the album art without a cursor roll-over, but it only shows nine entries at once on my 15" screen, making lots of scrolling a bit of a pain.

The cursor roll-overs of the old site were a double-edged sword. They allowed listing of multiple entries without their art taking up so much space on the list page (the problem faced now), as well as a view to art without having to click through to the album page. However, it did make it somewhat annoying when you wanted to click on an entry, as they'd constantly be sliding around, expanding and compressing as you rolled over them, making mis-clicks common, especially if your browser/computer wasn't running at instant-fast speeds.

I don't know what the answer is here, but I'd very much like to see more entries @ once.

Yeah, a tough one to solve. More per page? Or a layout that offers more ways to browse with a single glance (showing album covers)?

Hmm. Perhaps having smaller listings (though perhaps not as quite as small as the old site, with too-small-to-see art on the right (or left) side of each entry, and as you roll over the entry the art for that entry smoothly expands at the side, without effecting the position of the entry, and with the other tiny art moving up or down to accommodate? Tough to describe and maybe not the answer but just a thought.

Discography used to have its own tab which allows you to get more on a page. but the artwork (in my opinion) isn't necessary at this level. The rows are too large and the info is spread out too much over the wide column. It's hard to read and scan quickly.

I agree it's hard to read and scan quickly and that the rows are too large, but viewing the album art at a glace I find quite helpful.

Often I'll be looking for an album but will know it best by the look of its cover art - having to navigate to a new page just to see the art, and then back again if it wasn't the album I had in mind would be a step back from the previous layout IMO.
