Having the same problem as Sean. Since the app did the whole makeover thing it's been nothing but buggy...I want back the old layout for the old app. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Are you trying to watch episodes as watched from the initial Tracker screen or the season list?

Also it would be helpful to know what software version you are on with your iPhones:

Are you on iOS 6 or 7?

To find out which OS you are on:
  1. From the the Home Screen, tap Settings > General > About.
  2. The software version of your device should appear on this screen under the Version label.

Hello everyone,

We are actively trying to debug this issue with our engineering team and are having difficulty replicating the problem on our side.  Can you help us out by answering a few questions about what you are seeing? We would like to submit a fix for this to the store today and get you all back to Tracking your tv shows!

  • Which app version are you running? Is it SideReel 2.02?
  • Are you on the iPhone?
  • When you tap an episode as watched in the Tracker does the blue checkmark stay highlighted?
  • Does the Next episode swipe over, or does it stay on the previous episode?

I'm having the same problem as the people have mentioned.
The version is SideReel 2.0.2
It happens on both my iPad and iPhone 5
When you tap the episode as watched the blue checkmark appears and stays until you scroll up or down to a different screen. Then when you return to the episode you marked as watched, the blue checkmark is no longer highlighted
The next isode never swipes over. It remains on the previous episode.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the feedback! Are you marking an episode as Watched from the My Schedule screen or the Tracker?

Tracker. But it also doesn't stay as watched (blue check mark) when you mark it from the My Schedule screen.

Hello everyone on this thread.

Would you mind trying to log out of the app via the Logout link under the settings gear icon and then logging back in? If doing this allows you to start marking episodes as watched again, can you let us know in this thread?

Also, is there any chance you have set Safari on the phone to not accept cookies, via the Privacy settings?

To check your Safari settings, go to Settings > Safari > and select Block Cookies. If it is set to always, set it to "From third parties and advertisers."

Hi Sean,

Thank you for trying. We have submitted an update to the store that will be live in approximately 5-6 days. We are also working on a server side solution that may resolve your issue within a couple of days.  I recommend trying back in a couple of days to see if the issue is improved. As always, we appreciate your feedback and help in trying to get to the bottom of this!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for your patience! The next update will include the ability to see if a show has been marked watched in the season list. We expect Apple to approve this update in the iTunes store in the next couple of days.

I'm pleased to post here that an update went live in the iTunes store today around 1pm that addressees the issue of marking episodes as watched in your Tracker.

This update also includes the following other improvements:

  • Tracker stability and faster load time
  • Ability to mark episode as watched from the season screen (iPhone)
  • Seasons displayed in descending order (iPad)

If you encounter the Mark Watched issue again after updating the app on your phone, please let us know. We appreciate your helping us make the SideReel iOS app a better product.
