Hello, I am writing on behalf of many, many users. A couple of years ago you canceled the AllMusic iPhone App with the promise that there would be a new, better updated app coming. We are all still waiting.

Using this app through Safari is not at all user friendly. It is time for a new AllMusic & AllMovie iPhone Apps. These are the best sites online and would benefit from these apps.

Please pass this on to the appropriate department. Surely you can find the funds for this endeavor.

You owe it to your users and we are all still waiting.

I would appreciate your prompt response to this glaring oversight.

Regards,

Joseph Smith

I didn't know there was an app. I would use all music every single day, instead of occasionally, if there was an Android app. if you fix the iPhone app you will get more visits & more users. so I agree, you Must fix the app asap. (& once u have, pls release an Android app). I also agree you need to reply to this post asap it's very important. using browsers is old fashioned now. It's all about apps.

Hi Joseph,
I went into some detail here but we really were unable to come up with a method of generating enough revenue from the app to cover the data license required to provide the information.

In fact, the revenue we were able to generate from the app was literally 1.12% of the overall cost to license the music information. If you ran a bakery and your costs were 89 times your revenue, you wouldn't be able to keep the business running, no matter how much people loved the location and your pastries.

We definitely understand the value of having a standalone app and how native apps are very different (and more functional) than viewing a webpage in a mobile browser.

If the metrics were any different, the app would still be available but we simply could not keep it running, no matter how hard we wanted to have it be available to our users.

Hello Zac,

This is a massive disappointment for us users of AllMusic and AllMovie, to hear.

Writing on behalf of many of users, many of us work in the film and music industries and were hoping that you could find a solution.

There must be some way to appease your users.

We are hoping that you will strongly reconsider and try and find a solution to having all of the useful information for industry workers as well as everyday fans of AllMovie and AllMusic in an iPhone app once again.

Please try.

We are hopeful and look forward to hearing from you with a more positive outcome.

Thank you,

Joseph Smith
