Porn Site Ads at log in

I always have to 'log on' now when I come to the sidereel page. There's always an advert appears when I hit the sign in button. Usually it's poker, or something inoffensive. Today it was a medley of women in various provocative outfits asking if I was 'Up For It'. This is intensely annoying. I thought Sidereel didn't carry adult ads...

Hi fudgefase,
We certainly don't authorize ads with adult content. Are you sure this was on SideReel and not a watchlink you were viewing? Next time you see this, please take a screenshot and send it to contact@sidereel.com so we can track it down. Thank you.

I pressed the log in/sign in link to get into sidereel and then it came up. I can't take a screenshot because the computer won't let me.

It may have been a pop-up related to a different site you had open, as SideReel does not host pop-up or pop-under ads for users in the US. If you're able to figure out how to send us a screenshot at some point, that would be great. Thanks and sorry for the disturbance!

Alex, I'm not the only person with this problem as some of the other complaints about pop ups have mentioned. It is not another site. When I press the log in button (it always comes up now saying it's the beta site) I get a pop up ad. Usually it's something inoffensive, like groupon, or some offer, but today it was a porn site. And I can't take a screen shot or even save the page because the option to grab the page (I'm on a mac) isn't 'lit', so is unavailable. It is definitely hitching itself to the log in option on the beta front page.

I haven't been able to grab the screen but I've copied it plus the web address at the top. It's when I hit the login that the ads pop up. Hope this helps.

Hi fudgefase, to obtain a screenshot on a Mac, pressing shift-apple-3 on the key should do the trick. However, this is only helpful if it includes the offensive pop-up you're referring to, so if you encounter it again, that would be extremely helpful. Thank you!

Thanks for the tip - I've only ever used the 'grab' facility which allows you to copy what's on the screen, and as i say, it doesn't give me that option when I need it. I'll try your tip though.

fudge,

Try the command key, shift, and 4. It will let you pick out a specific portion of the screen in order to get a screenshot of it. Should do the trick nicely.

Thanks for teaching me how to take a screenshot. Of course, this morning , the problem has been solved - no pop up at all when I signed in. THANK YOU SIDEREEL!
