registration email problem

SideReel says I haven't added my email address yet, but I must have made sure i have a dozen times. My user name is GrahamC and my email address is graham@grahampayne.com, after this is taken care of would you please send me the confirmation email, Thanks.

Hi Graham, the email confirmation can only be sent by you or someone logged in to your account clicking the bar on the site asking you to confirm your email address. It seems it's come up recently that uncommon email servers aren't recognized by the site as valid email addresses, so that could be the case for your email address.

If you have an email account in something like Gmail or Hotmail, I'd recommend trying that out instead. If not, then try re-typing your email address, saving it again, and let me know if that works or what specific message you receive.

Im having this problem also I use hotmail which I figured would be in your system, Im not getting my confirmation email.

Hi Crystal, hotmail often has high email security settings, so try checking your junk mail and if it's not there, add info@sidereel.com to your email contacts. Then try clicking the bar on the site again to send yourself a new confirmation email and you should receive it shortly. If that doesn't work, try checking and lowering your security settings on your email and try sending another new email.

Ok I have hotmail done your suggestions and still dont have my confirmation email. If we ever get this fiured out Ill have 50 of them in my inbox. So why is this being a issue Im getting frustrated.

I understand all the settings its a problem with you guys not my settings. Your email came to me but confirmation don't, and reading on this is a big issue with lots of ppl. This will turn ppl away from your site.

Crystal, so you've received the email but the confirmation link in the email is not working for you? What happens when you click the link?

Hi again Crystal, we're looking into the issue of many Hotmail accounts not being able to receive our emails - if you can send me the Hotmail address associated with your SideReel account at contact@sidereel.com so we can add it to our research, that'd be great! Thanks!

i'm having a similar issue. i just signed up yesterday and i have a gmail account, so i can't see why it would be a problem. i clicked on the confirmation email and it's telling me "confirmation token is invalid"

i even tried to re-sign up and it's telling me my email is already a member. help!

There have been some email system issues so try just sending yourself a new confirmation email and seeing if that link, or copying and pasting that link in your browser, work better. If they don't, let us know your browser and we'll check into what might be wrong. As for a new account, if you went through the process of creating an account successfully as it looks you have, it'll always tell you someone has that account because you did create one with that email.

Im having similar problem i signed up and got activated but now i sign in and nothing happens.

i tried requesting new password but now my email is not known.

Hi Sharaaz, try clearing the SideReel cookies on your browser, restarting your browser, and then try logging in again. Let me know if this helps!

Hey Alex thank for your reply.

It makes no difference when i clear sidereel cookies etc.

I have signed up few days ago and recieved my activation emai.

I log in but it dont let me in and when i reuest new password , it dont even recognise my email.

Pretty annoying ill email sidereel directly now.

Ok... well the "add an image" thing isn't working either. It says:

1 error prohibited this user from being saved

There were problems with the following fields:

* Confirmation token can't be blank

Hi Heather, when you go back to the homepage after seeing this screen, are you logged in? There seems to be an issue where SideReel is able to reset the password, but says otherwise. Try going here: http://beta.sidereel.com/users/sign_out
Then try logging in again with the new password. That should hopefully help for now, but if not, please let me know and better fixes are on the way.

Hi Alex, thanks for getting back to me. I'm not able to reset my password or log in at all. When I try to it says there is no user associated with my email address (even though I've signed up multiple times.

okay. i cleared my cookies (ie 7)- still not working. i tried to reset my password and got this:

We're sorry, but there is no user for that email. Please enter a valid email for a SideReel user.

i went back to my email and oddly found a reset your password email, after the site told me i did not have a valid email. i clicked through the reset password email, put in a new password and then got this:

1 error prohibited this user from being saved
There were problems with the following fields:

Reset password token is invalid

Hi magpiefound, there seems to be an issue where SideReel is able to reset the password, but says otherwise. Try logging out here: http://beta.sidereel.com/users/sign_out
Then try logging in again with the newest password you reset. Let me know if that helps.

Hi Sharaaz, sorry for being unclear. I sent you a message asking for you to e-mail me your information and it has been passed along to tech support. This is a bug that we're trying to get to the bottom of. What happens when you enter your e-mail in the 'request new password' box?

Hello I know my password and enter it with my username and get following message.

When i request new password i get following message ...

We're sorry, but there is no user for that email. Please enter a valid email for a SideReel user.

* Its not just me as few of my friends are getting same problem.

What is sidereel doing about all those people who cant sign in gosh !

For me its been dayssssss now and I tried everything and no email support either, lol this should be embarassing as your well known.

Oh well you suck !

Hi Sharaaz, as I've already mentioned in my correspondence with you, I have received your support e-mail and have forwarded your information to tech support to try to get to the bottom of this issue. However, according to our records it says the user "tvshowsstream" has been able to log in, and logged in again today, 10/5. Is there another account you're trying to access?

I'm having the same problem, i cant log in because it says the email is not recognized, before i was able to log in through the comfirmation email, a bit annoying but i managed now i cant even log in through that this is the error that i recieve:

Confirmation token can't be blank

fixed it i did the sign out link, then signed in but i didnt use my username like usual, i tried it with my email and it worked, i dont know if that helps u guys understand the bug better, btw i use mozilla firfox with a gmail account
