Submit Corrections

I'd like to see an enhanced "Submit Corrections" facility. Perhaps similar to discogs.com. Where album art, track information, year, label etc.can be uploaded for moderation. Once a particular user has submitted numerous valid corrections they become "trusted" and moderation is skipped or your submissions are, at least, fast-tracked straight to the top of the moderation pile. It would make users feel more valuable and vastly increase the database.

I realise that "Submit Corrections" already exists, but I've used it on many occasions and never seen my submissions implemented. It feels like a token gesture, once you click "submit" you can't help but feel it's been sent straight to the recycle bin, hence my request to enhance it and make it more substantial, reliable and immediate.

You could even offer accreditations, for example once someone has submitted 5 approved corrections they become "trusted" with future submissions fast-tracked, once they have done 50 or more they become "reliable" and no longer require moderation, when they have done 200 or more they can moderate other submissions. This would then reduce the strain on AllMusic moderator employees.

I keep reading about lack of resources and manpower which really points back to the solution I proposed in the first place! There are lots of frustrated legitimate people wanting to update and add information, why not let them do it themselves? Frustration eliminated on both sides. It works incredibly well for discogs.com.

I agree... Would be nice to be able to edit MY OWN listings and have them reviewed and approved which would be less work for the small amount of staff AMG seems to have.

This is something frustating... I've been submiting changes of my artist IreneB since 2009 and nothing happened. Her name is bad written, the first album is correct there but the Style: Religious (sorry????) from where came that info... It's been a waste of time...we send the information by ordinary post from Spain (spending and spending money...times and times, with the bio, the info, the albums...

Correction.

You have included the song "Wipe Out" as part of the song list for the group "The Safaris". I believe that song was done by "The Surfaris". Not only were the names so close, but their heyday was around the same time.

Our FAQ has the most current, comprehensive information about common inquiries such as how to submit corrections:
Errors to written content like reviews and biographies, tagged metadata like Genres, Styles, Moods, Themes and Similar Artists, as well as information about credits, album covers, sound clips and music videos are on the end of our data provider, Rovi. You may submit artist- and album-related corrections to Rovi editors using Submit Corrections links available in the sidebar on artist and album pages, and corrections related to other types of data via our feedback form.

Rovi prides themselves on accuracy, so please include your information source in your submission. Please do not contact AllMusic about the status of data corrections; we don't control which data is corrected or how long it takes to apply corrections, and we can't move up your correction in priority or within a specific time frame. Rovi appreciates the time you take to send this information to them, but due to the immense volume of correspondence they receive, they're unable to directly respond to most of your submissions.

Thanks!

Anne Murray's Best of the Season mistake.

In the description of Anne Murray's Christmas compilation "Best of the Season," you should correct it to say it comprises 1981's "Cristmas Wishes" and 1988's "Christmas."

Artist link links to wrong artist.

Hi there,
Just a heads up that the artist link for John Phillips on the ‘Not Drowning, Waving’ page, links to John Phillips from the ‘Mamas & the Papas’, who died in 2001.
John Phillips from ‘Not Drowning, Waving’ is still alive, teaches music, and recording music.
I didn’t want ‘Not Drowning, Waving’ fans to think he was dead.
Cheers,
Margi

Hi Keith,
The editors at our data provider report that the album appears to have been released a couple different ways. For example:

Cd listed for wrong group?.

I think this CD listing is in the wrong place.
http://www.allmusic.com/album/rio-bra...

I checked Amazon and the Lonestar website and couldn't find this listed anywhere else for the country group Lonestar.

Missing Credits.

Hi,
I have sent a few messages, but not changes have been made yet and its been a few months. There is info missing from the credits section for http://www.allmusic.com/album/good-ki...
The producer Jack Splash should be added on there along with Mary J Blige. He produced the bonus track "Now or Never" on the album, which features Mary J. Blige.
