Terrible - there is no reason to return

You have made irrelevant what was indispensable. This site is a disaster. You have ruined the most informative and interesting and entertaining sites about music. The discography for The Paul Butterfield Blues Band is missing their first two albums. The bios and reviews have been decimated. The album credits are reduced to incomplete listings. I did not find important musicians credited on major albums. You are forcing your audience to rely upon other sources for what was at our fingertips. Wikipedia will be more relevant to lovers and students of music and that is sad. So am I. Your advertisers will leave you and find your audience with other publishers. Goodbye

I couldn't have said it better myself, Henry. I have resorted to using Wikipedia for album credits as well. At least with Wikipedia, if they don't have credits listed, I am able to add them myself. AllMusic has an open link to submit "data corrections," yet they never make the suggested corrections. I am beyond disappointed with this terrible website and their destruction of an album's personelle.

Wikipedia's music listings would be a wasteland were it not for people copying the information off of AllMusic. I don't believe there's one sentence that hasn't been stolen from somewhere else. There are few music experts there, and none dealing with rock.

Kristen has a point about corrections though. AMG has many mistakes (and they're replicated on Wikipedia) and the method for fixing them is broken so badly that people now rely on this forum to get anything done.

Hi Kristen and Andy,

Thank you for your comments. One of the biggest reasons we cannot simply add every correction as it comes in, is because many of them are not actionable on our part. In other words, we need more corroborating information than submitters of corrections provide. Each correction has to be independently fact checked and verified by our editorial team.

If you have corroborating information (such as legible scans of liner notes that show the credits you would like added) and were not able to add that supporting data through the "corrections" link, we would encourage you to write to us with that information at content.music@rovicorp.com. Thanks for stopping by!
