Tracker Empty on the Updated iPhone App

Latest version looks great but seems very buggy. After logging in I went to tracker and after it loaded my shows I set the filter to unwatched and then marked a show as watched everything looked fine until I switched to schedule and then back to tracker. It said I am not tracking any shows. I closed the app and reopened it and they were back went to new shows and back to tracker and my shows were gone again. Closed app reopened and this time no shows. Please help

Yup. I have also just updated and have that same issue. The new design looks great but wayyyy too buggy

Hi Jason,

Thank you for the feedback. We caught that Tracker issue too and have resubmitted a new build to Apple to correct the problem. We are just awaiting store approval to roll the update out. I'll post to this thread when the update is ready. In the meantime if you add a filter to the Tracker you should see the list of shows again and I assure you they are not at all removed from your account. Thanks again for reporting this issue.

It's a year later and I still have the same issue. I get email reminders - but that's useless unless I check my emails daily - which I don't. Please fix.

New app not as good as the old one. Tracking keeps saying 'you are not tracking any shows' so I have to go into the filter - don't select anything just hit apply - and all my show show up. Also - you cant UNtrack easily - have to search for the show again to get that option. Get some user testing before rolling out so-called improvements.

Hi Laura,

We have submitted an update to the iTunes store to correct the "not tracking any shows" issue. We are just awaiting store approval for the update to be available to you, which should be in a day or two.

If you want to delete a show from your Tracker, simply tap the Show image to the far left in the Tracker list, and you will go to a show screen with a button to stop tracking that show.

Too many glitches with new update..


It doesn't updated what I am tracking quickly anymore. It is too hard to read show summaries. And it is too difficult to see what I am tracking. Please go back to how it was one update ago or I will find a new app to use.

Hi Carl,

While we do not intend to revert to the old app style, we can make incremental improvements to the new design to make it easier for our audience to use. We do plan to release an update in the next couple of days that should resolve most Tracker performance issues you are seeing. We can also look into making our show summaries easier to read. One question, what device are you using? iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, etc.?

Poor Jen :( I'm sure u are being bombarded with numerous questions lol. I will wait patiently until the new update is available...a couple days can't hurt.

Hi Bob,

There is a bug with the latest app that is causing your shows not to appear in the iPhone Tracker. We have a fix out to Apple and expect the update to go live in the App Store later today. All of your shows should appear in your Tracker after the update is installed.

With the new update will the show tracker have the same data as the old app? It would be such a hassle to put in like 30 shows and try and remember where I was in each show. (Hence the need for a tracker.

Yes, all of the shows you see for your account on our web site will be available in your Tracker in the app. We expect to have the update ready in the iTunes store later today.

When selecting unwatched and current the ios app shows what I need to watch then they disappear. Have to go back into filters to show again.

Iphone app tracker failure.


Hi, I recently updated my iphone sidereel app yesterday and now I'm having a lot of problems with my tracker... half the time it's telling me I'm tracking 49 shows which is correct but it'll only show them for a few moments then when I try do something it is telling me I'm tracking no shows. Is there a fault/bug in your new app because it is quite frustrating

Good news! We just released a new update that should correct the previous tracker issues. It should be available in the iTunes store in the next couple of hours. Let me know if you're still having trouble!

The app update will take a couple of hours to show up in the store. I recommend checking back later tonight. Thank you for your understanding. The Apple process takes a bit of time.

My sidereel.com data is only available on the tracker tab anywhere else in the app it's shows and episodes untracked unwatched

My issue is similar. After the update the app doesn't seem to remember my tracking settings. I just want to go in to tracking and see my unwatched shows. It is not rembering the filter I set once I go out of the app and come back.

Just a quick update. We submitted an update to the store today for the app that not only improves overall performance, but will also remember your unwatched Tracker setting. Due to Apple's review policies, the update may take anywhere from 3 to 6 days to be live in the store and available for download.

SideReel is pleased to announce that the update for the app went live in the store this afternoon and is now available for download. What's new in this version: 

  • Tracker stability
  • Improved overall app performance
  • Ability to stop tracking a show directly from the iPhone Tracker via swipe left to Delete
  • Unwatched filter in Tracker is saved between app launches
  • My Schedule button state is saved between launches
