User feedback on the "new" Sidereel - May 2020

Reviews: hope the likes and comments won't actually disappear, they were pretty useful.

Reviews: the lines breaks are currently missing, making longer reviews really hard to read.

Top and most tracked shows: I hope you'll keep both ways of showing shows, I always found it interesting. Compare https://cf.sidereel.com/most-tracked-tv-shows/medical-drama and https://cf.sidereel.com/highest-rated-tv-shows/medical-drama, for example.

Let me just say, that Sidereel sucks at IT best practices. How could you take the site down in order to upgrade? Its just soo stupid.

Hi Chancey.
The site is up and most of the functionality is there now.
We're still working on getting the user login in place.

you do understand that that only reason most of us use the site if for the exact things you're missing - user login and tracking of watched/unwatched shows.  I can get a calendar anywhere, and who watches live TV anymore - you're wasting your time with crap nobody cares about.

Hi Beth,
Actually only about 4% of the visitors that come to SideReel are logged in and interacting with their tracker or profile. 96% of our visitors are just browsing the TV information and calendar. This is why we needed to emphasize getting the TV and episode pages in place.

The good news is that our logged-in users are a dedicated and passionate bunch. That's why we wanted to make sure to enable the tracker and user profile areas as soon as we could after cutting over.

Sorry, I call total bullshit on that.  You already told us the entire team is gone, your servers and functionality are gone, but yet you can pull a number like 4% out of your butt.  yeah, I don't think so, and I find it hard to believe that people are here for a calendar and TV information.  I've been looking at the same "Breaking News" that Joe Jackson died on my main page for years now, hardly a site I'd visit for your up to date TV info, the same info I can get from thousands of other sites including just saying "hey, Google"

I'm sorry you think I'm lying about that. It is the truth.

We no longer have the SideReel development or editorial staff (which is why you've been looking at the same "Breaking News" that Joe Jackson died on the main page for years now) but we still have the tools set up to do reporting and analytics.

We looked closely at these numbers when coming up with the plan to rebuild SideReel. It was not how we wanted to do it but it was the necessary step to keep it moving forward.
