I know there are some sites added to SideReel that are spam and/or malware. Are there certain types of sites like this that I can look out for when looking through link results?

The best way to prevent and fight spam and malware issues is to have as much help around the site as possible with recognizing and reporting malware and spam sites added to SideReel. Here are some examples of bad sites so if you'd like to help us fight spam, you'll know what you're looking for, or if you've run into something questionable, you can know not to use that site and report it.

Malware:
Fake video sites that contain malware/virus downloads.

CPA Lead:
These sites require surveys or info to access content and often do not have real video content.

Any Gateway Ads:
Sites do not have to have CPA Lead specifically to be banned. Any gateway ad that pops up on a video site page that blocks video access, even if it has a close button, should be reported for banning.

How to Report Spam/Malware:
Here's how to report suspicious video sites.

  • Click 'Report Link' next to the questionable link on the search results page

  • Email the spam/malware link to spamsucks@sidereel.com

If you are unsure of any questionable links you see, feel free to post descriptions and screenshots here or report them to us at spamsucks@sidereel.com and we'll check them out!
