If your ads keep starting up with the gain at maximum, I and many others are going to stop using your website.

It's ridiculous, it's annoying, and it has at least once woken up my 1yr old when your F'n ad started up at with the volume/gain at maximum.

Hi blackhandle! So sorry for the inconvenience! Keep in mind that the ONLY ads that should be playing any sort of audio are the pre-roll ads before our original videos around the site, and you can disable those across the site at any time by editing your profile preferences!
Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi JohnnyBravo,
SideReel doesn't hand-pick the ads that are served to you, so if you see these rogue ads again, please send over a screenshot so we can pass it along and have them shut down ASAP!

Can I block the 'drakensang online' commercials? The LOUD music that suddenly plays scares the shit out of me everytime, and it drowns out the Sidereel TV News video.

seen eg. at http://www.sidereel.com/kourtney_and_...

and every show I track!

how do I give a screen shot?

Hi Mary!
Taking a screenshot is different depending on what kind of computer you have - check here for instructions: http://take-a-screenshot.org/
You can attach it here by making a new reply to the topic and clicking 'add image' in the reply box. That will be a big help in tracking it down - definitely sounds like a rogue ad.

The new advertising method is not working on my computer so some pages a i cannot browse your website. going onto sidereel comedy a large black sheet comes up and nothing happens. i have left it for an hour and still nothing. This morning it did work well enough for the film trailer to start playing but after watching most of the trailer clicking the [x] on the top right corner caused the trailer to crash and i was left with the black screen blocking my view of your website. i'm sure this is most likely a problem with my computer then your site but i thought you might want to be aware that this affect is possible and that it makes your site hard to use.
Big fan by the way i love all the things your site does that puts a it a cut above the rest.

Hi Daniel! Thanks for the support, and I'm so sorry to hear you're having trouble navigating the site! If you don't mind, could you please send over a screenshot of the error you're seeing? This doesn't sound familiar, but I'll be happy to take a closer look at it and have our ad rep look into it if necessary! Thanks!

90 second reviews is driving me crazy. I use your site every day. It's the site that I use to stream shows on because it's comprehensive, accessible, and awesome. Hell, you even added a search bar (which is awesome.) But Rachel, and her half-witted 90 second reviews of things I dont give a crap about are driving me insane. Please get rid of it. Or at least make it 'less' some how. I dont know if you can. But it sucks so much. And if I have to hear "I'm Rachel here with your 90 second review!" one more time, I'm going to throw my mac book out my window into traffic. I'd much rather throw rachel. I love your website- but she's killing me.

Hi hanna!
Sorry for the confusion, but the segment you're referring to actually isn't at all affiliated with SideReel! We don't know this Rachel, or her 90 Second Reviews, so unfortunately we can't do much to stop her – this is just a pre-roll ad that sometimes shows up on our own video content around the site.
You can disable autoplaying video content in general by editing your profile preferences and making sure your settings for autoplay are turned off!
Let me know if you have any other questions!

Okay the film might look relatively interesting, I wouldn't know, I'm going to boycott the film due to the annoying gigantic page taking over advertisement ruining my sidereal viewing. I'm sure that sidereel is finically benefitting from the advert and that is great, but I really don't want to have to sit through the whole trailer every time I go to a new side reel page. To be redirected to the films facebook page if i click anywhere on the screen whilst the trailer is playing is ridiculous and extremely irritating and even if I do sit through the whole thing it makes no difference as scrolling down after the trailer has finished just gives me a black screen that i have to reload and go trough the whole thing again. Very annoying, Please sidereel Never do this to us again. I'm all for innovative marketing but this boarders on harassment.

Hi there! So sorry for the disturbance! We at SideReel don't personally hand-pick the ads that are served to you, nor are we trying to devise an annoying experience for you, so if you see this again, please report it given the instructions above! Thanks!

The links are all scam. Too many ads that you can't mute and pop up ads. Your site used to be good but now I hate it.

Hi Allegra! So sorry to hear that! Keep in mind that SideReel doesn't host any pop-up ads at all - and you can turn off any auto-playing videos by editing your profile preferences. You shouldn't be finding 'scam' links around the site either - so if you continue to find those, please report them by clicking the 'flag for removal' button.

Why put 2 or more video ads that autoplay on a single page? It's ridiculously annoying and you can't understand either of them due to the fact that they're talking over each other. So you end up disliking and not wanting to listen to either of them. Seems somewhat idiotic to me. Sidereel has one of the worst and most annoying advertising systems that i've ever had to deal with. If facebook and youtube can advertise without being too disruptive/annoying than Sidereel sure as hell should be able to do it too. If you're going to be a middle man you could at least attempt to please the people visiting your site instead of just frustrating them.
I already tried to post this once but it was mysteriously deleted.

Hi Jeremy, you shouldn't be seeing more than one video ad on the same page. Please refer to the instructions above regarding how to properly report ads and we'll be sure to check it out and make sure it's fixed.

Really annoying loud ad (mute not working).

Revolution add very VERY LOUD!!!! and plays automatically even when control is muted. Click mute twice (off/on) works for a while, but then off it goes again - Please fix or remove! (this is while logged in or not)

This has been merged (reported separately) - but this is not really about 3rd party ads - its about your own Celebifield ads of up coming programs - I would suggest that you DO hand pick those and you DO have control over the player.

I have since blocked the Celebifield IFrame using thhe computer's HOST file and recommend anyone else does the same until SIdereel stops blowing our speakers and ears with continuously unmuted (even when set to mute) trailers at full volume (doesn't help that all seem to contain explosions and lightening strikes - revolution/falling skies/etc).

Hi Richard,

While the ads do surround Celebified content, which is a SideReel sister site, the ads themselves are served by a third party, and therefore not entirely within our control. However, it is definitely NOT OK that theses ads are not mutable, and we are definitely looking into getting that taken care of.

Thanks!

auto playing ads.

The St Ives body lotion and J&J baby lotion ads are not just loud and disruptive, there is no way to mute them and they play every fifteen or twenty minutes. Plus, they come with a pull down ad that offers to let me skip ads "for a few cents at a time".

Hi KillerBunny! Thanks for letting us know, and we apologize for the disruption! We'll be on the lookout for this pesky ad.
Just in case you see it again (or any other annoying, non-mutable ad), please send us a screenshot of it (including the SideReel page you're visiting), so we can more easily track it down and wrangle it! ;)
Thanks!

This Michelob ad keeps making my screen jump all over the place, so when I go to select a link, the ad jumps and I end up hitting the ad and my web page changes. I have to close down all my tabs I have open and start all over. It doesn't change. It's always the beer ad. I don't drink beer. Its not relevent to me so why is this the only ad I see now. Are you being sponsored by the beer company? Totally inappropriate to see,a beer ad all the time that takes over my page, doesn't matter whether I log in or not,
