Why have you decided to combine all episodes that air on the same night?

I've noticed in the last few months that every time a show airs 2 episodes on the same night the site lists them as a single episode. Why did this change occur? I realize that occasionally networks do consider 2 episodes to be a "double episode" but it seems like the vast majority of the time they're considered 2 separate episodes (they have separate episode numbers, etc). I'm finding it difficult to keep track of episode numbers after this change (as sidereel is no longer consistent with the network's count).

Thank you for your concern.

Can you be more specific so we can look into this?

Here are 2 examples.  Both of them list the double episodes as separate on their respective network pages yet they're listed as singles on SideReel.

Masterchef (https://www.sidereel.com/tv-shows/masterchef-(us)/episodes) s09e14-18 are e14-23 on the Fox webpage (https://www.fox.com/masterchef/episodes/)

Grey's Anatomy (https://www.sidereel.com/tv-shows/greys-anatomy/episodes) s15e1 is e1-2 on the ABC webpage (https://abc.go.com/shows/greys-anatomy/episode-guide)

Masterchef were double episodes at the time we added them months ago.

However, Grey's is already 2 separate episodes. Please clear your cache, if you aren't seeing them.

The thing is that we aren't always going to match the network lists. Sometimes the networks are wrong, sometimes they change them later, and often there are specials that are not numbered but have to be numbered in our system, throwing off the count.  We really can't keep taking time to change them according to the whims of the network.

The best way to not be confused is to look for the airdates, and track them accordingly.

They aired (originally) with closing/opening credits in the middle.  Yes they both aired the same night but that doesn't make them the same episode.

Unfortunately, we cannot keep changing things to meet the network's whims.

I understand it can be disappointing, but in order to keep adding new things, we have to at some point say no to moving around the old things.
