Muffled sound at 1/4 volume. Led still Green

Bought a pair of TX12's and only used 1 of them a couple of times, and always noticed the same issue.

When the band is playing together (indoors, so moderate volume), the crispness goes away very quickly and some instruments don't even play. I don't know if it's the clipping effect because the LED is always a steady green. Afterwards, the speaker stays in this mode until powering off.

I use it always in LINE mode, and with the volume at 12. Last time tested with the mixer at Unity and adjusted the speaker's knob. At about 1/4 of the way, the sound gives in and it gets all muffled.

Messing with the speaker's volume sometimes brings back the clear sound, but only momentarily.

Just tested my 2nd speaker with recorded music, much louder than what I had in rehearsals, and it's fine, no glitches.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

  • Hi Diogo,

Thanks for posting. Sorry you're having issues with your speakers.

It sounds like you may need to service your speakers. Warranty and non-warranty claims are not handled here on the forum, but I can point you in the right direction! Here are a couple of options that you could choose from:

    • Submit a Warranty or Service inquiry with our Technical Support team by logging onto the Alto Pro Audio Support Page. Select Warranty or Service Inquiry from the drop down menu.

    or

    • For quicker support, call your nearest Support Office or International Distributor.

Make sure to reference or link this thread to help out the support team.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.

  • Hi Bill,

Thank you for your answer. In the meanwhile, I called my supplier and he's going to replace my speaker. It was probably hardware related, so it's unlikely that it will happen with the new one.

    Best regards,
