Switching to Webstore and SOA from the Marketplace

Can I transfer current FBA items sold through the Marketplace ("old" platform) into the Webstore and Selling On Amazon? I know that the switch causes me to lose my feedback. Other than that, what would the switch entail?

Hi Mauro and welcome to the forums :)

You can transfer all your listings and fba items to the new account. This involves downloading all your inventory reports and uploading them on a new account. You will need to create a case with FBA Seller Support to transfer your FBA inventory to the new account. Other than that you will start with a new account with 0 feedback and ratings but you will be entitled to webstore+soa bundle promotion:

    US: http://webstore.amazon.com/pricing-Pr...

    UK: http://webstore.amazon.co.uk/pricing/...

    I hope this helps,

    Regards

    • Crossed fingers didn't help -- When I inquired with Seller Support about the status of reserved items during an inventory transfer, this is the response I received:

"I regret to inform you that currently we do not have any mechanism as of now to transfer inventories of one account to another selling account, I apologize for the inconvenience this might have caused to you.

However, there is a work around, where in you will have to create removal orders for all the units in inventory of your current seller account, once the removal order units are delivered to you, you will have to wait for all the payments to be disbursed to your bank account, once all these are done you can close your old seller account. Regarding the order that are in process, please be informed that you will have to wait for the orders to be processed and if the units are in reserve you will have to contact seller support to move the units to the regular sellable status, once the units reserved units are moved to sellable status please create a removal order for the units and close the seller account.

After closing your old seller account, you can create a new pro merchant selling on Amazon seller account and ship the units to our warehouse using the new seller account."

Yikes! Is someone out of the loop? Or am I out of luck?

      Hi Mauro!

You cannot transfer items that are being processed, that's absolutely correct, you need to finish all orders and wait for all items to become sellable/unsellable in your FBA inventory.

However, the other part of transferring the SKUs from one seller account to another is definitely possible, but it's probably 'negotiable' depending on the size of your inventory, if it's stickered or stickerless and so on. In a nutshell, it really depends on the amount of work for the FBA people as they will need to re-scan every single item, re-label them if necessary and physically move to a different bin etc. For a few items, it's not a big problem, but for a few thousands it might be easier to actually create removal and send them all within a new shipment.

      I hope this helps,

      Regards

  • You can now transfer your FBA inventory to your new account (with help from FBA SS) - This is fantastic news!

So many 'marketplace sellers' have wound up with the 'wrong' account type (to sell non-media) over the years it has now reached mass buyer confusion - most buyers (and many sellers) have no idea which sellers can/do set their own shipping rates, zones, etc, nor which sellers can/do offer combined shipping.

This could be the catalyst for many of these sellers (who cannot set shipping rates/zones) to finally make the decision to get the 'right' account, albeit losing their feedback and history. What about FM status - If they had that before, with they have it with the new account?

Regarding SOA, with Amazon having changed and/or used different named accounts and types over the years, what is the current (Amazon) name for a new account that can set shipping rates, zones, etc? Are there still 2 distinctions (PM or not) when signing up for the new account? i.e. Which account type/options do you currently select to get the account type that can set their own shipping?

    Carradine,

Right now there is only one type of account available for all sellers, so regardless of the option chosen all new accounts are automatically set up on the newest platform that is compatible with all Amazon products.
