Changed reply in topic of Platform Maintenance on October 29 by Bruce Stuart to Gentlemen ,

Respectfully I thank you for the update.

I will however add that in terms of substantive addition of features the list is honestly missing any real substantive changes, and the issues for IOS 11 are more than what you e listed as I’ve alluded to in a separate post.

Since the IOS11 issues are important for no other reason than (a) reputationally (b)they will be required when Apple refuses no longer allow xCode 8 built Software on the App Store ... it’s challenging to understand from a users perspective given the majority share the Apple store seems to have with business users ... what the real plan is here for the platform given the lack of a roadmap for the product and any definition on IOS11 here.

Please correct me ...as like many users have ... I have a tremendous amount at risk here and am very much tied into this platform.

Bruce.

    Changed reply in topic of Return Number Value from Input using the Where query by Bruce Stuart to On second thought you should change the function to look something like this... As the call to Number won’t evaluate...

return fdebug( value ) ;
Then in a separate JavaScript asset:

function fdebug( value ){

var nReturn = Number( value );

console.log( nReturn ) // breakpoint

return { ‘zip’ : nReturn ) ;

}

Bruce.

    Changed reply in topic of GPS Tracker API (by Shubham Pareta, eCopoi) by Bruce Stuart to Hi Shubham,,

Thank you for posting this. Can you please tell me... does this API track gps locations in the background, foreground, and after an app has been terminated by the user ? I’m looking to replace an api that has these capabilities and wonder if yours does that or if you are relying on something else to do that ?

Or can you give us a more complete use case that shows how the API can be used in an Appery app ? Do you have an app that’s available on the store that has your API installled ?

Thanks again!

Bruce.

    Changed reply in topic of Open Popup with Javascript by Bruce Stuart to Tom,

Isn't page load perhaps just too soon to ask a pop up to open since officially the page has not loaded... And... You might be asking an asset that does not exist to open...

Why not moving the code to the page show event... And make it conditional on the first show... You can control this by a local storage variable that you update in page load or by some other manner ...

Just thinking out loud about what the problem might be...

Not sure if this will help but...

Best,
Bruce
.

    Changed reply in topic of How to invoke a timed response? by Bruce Stuart to Hao,

Works in Appery ... the details are:

1. The function you call has to be a public or visible

2. Visible would mean the function you are calling is in a Js asset or a service that is visible at the time the service is being callled ( i.e. On the current page or on you top / login / first page.

3. The service or function you are calling cannot have any grammar errors / syntax errors or variables that might not exist or have visibility to the function at the time of execution. Have you tried to debug the issue in Chrome ? How are you using it ? This is a strategy we use all the time to delay execution or to repeat execution ( using setTimer ) ....

Best,
Bruce.
