adding native IOS plugin - FullScreenImage

I'm trying to add a plugin to my appery build, and it's proving very difficult.
One one note, the standard appery "add a native plugin" documentation doesn't seem to reflect the actual directory structure for ios.

There was the .h file

There was the .m file

There was the .js file

There was the cordovoa plugins .js file

And there was the appropriate .xml file entry

However, I cannot find "FullScreenImage()" in my application, nor can I locate it under window, window.cordova, cordova, plugins, anywhere.

Any help on correct configuration?

Many thanks.

  • Hello!

We are sorry, adding plugins is outside the scope of Appery.io standard support. You may consider purchasing Advisory Pack. Please find more information here http://appery.io/services/

Note that for now adding iOS plugins is only possible via xCode.

  • So, to be clear, the appery website instructions how to add a plugin does not work, and cannot work for IOS plugins.

Why don't you then invalidate, or remove the page, or make some indication that the instructions specifically to add an IOS plugin are useless and incorrect.

    The specification, to be clear

    "Adding 3rd party plugins

    Introduction

Appery.io also allows you to use third party plugins, including your own. This is great, because it really lends a great deal of flexibility to your app.

Lets begin with a “Beep Application” (makes the phone beep) example, to illustrate how to add a custom PhoneGap plugin to your Appery.io application.

    Adding a Beep plug-in"

so, to repeat, though the documentation says "add a custom PhoneGap plugin to your Appery.io application", you cannot, in fact, add a custom PhoneGap plugin to your Apperyio application.

  • Hi Joseph,

Our documentations shows how to add 3rd party plugins for Android platform and this is possible as shown in our documentation.

But I think it's a good idea to add a note about that this won't work for iOS platform at the moment.

And just to clarify this: you can build your app in Appery.io and when time will come for testing on the device you can export your project to xCode and add any plugin to your app or even write your own.

  • Many thanks for clarifying, I thought I'd have to go the xcode route after the comment. You may want to update the base documentation to clarify.
