Geolocation tracker running on background

I need a mobile application and am looking for a proper development platform. The app must start at device start-up and run on background just like any messaging application. It should be developed for android and for ios (and it's better for windows mobile too). The app must send geolocation info to a server (data type not important, any type is wellcome).

Is the appery.io suitable for the application? İf it is, any suggestion and any tutorial or manual would be helpful.

  • Appery is suitable for this - however:

    1. You need to use the Christocracy GeoLocation plugin - free for IOS - $$$ (about $300) if you want to run it on Android.

    https://github.com/christocracy/cordo...

    2. The plugin works - however:
    a. It won't go into, on an IOS device, background mode at startup without an Appdelegate.m hack ( we have that hack by the way).
    b. You need to linkIn an additional library that we've had the Appery team code for us. I can share the link if you decide to go down this road.

    3. The app can send geolocation data to a server of your choice or the Appery backend.

We have a 'plugin' that will take most of the challenges out of this - available. It's not free (it's $199 USD) but it will get you past almost all of the heavy coding challenges (literally months worth of challenges), provide some excellent examples, and base code.

I can provide you access to a sample app that has all of that installed as an example of what it can do - just say the word.

If you like it - you can decide that way.

Minus that I can tell you that what you're trying to do is for an 'expert level' coder.

    Best wishes,

    Bruce

  • Hello,

Please see a tutorial how to build the application for route tracking with a background mode here: https://blog.appery.io/2015/12/how-to...
