I’m frustrated

Server code results and app results are different

Having problems getting the same results when I test the app. When I run the server script code, everything populates how I want.

When i add to the app and run, I don't get the same results. I also don't get the same results when I change criteria, going from using a radio button to using a list or input box.

In the attached screenshot, pies 1 and 3 are blank when I test the app, but pie 2 has the selection I picked. The difference is because pie 2 is using a radio button.

All parameters are the same:

Text
Type
Attribute Name
Attribute Value

for all three pies, the fourth pie field is a placeholder right now. It's very frustrating because I'm pretty sure the fix is very simple, but with my lack of coding knowledge, I'm just not sure what I'm missing.

Was looking for information on how to add number results to the database, but kept going in circles with links.

Please let me know if you need more information. Thanks.

  • Hello Ryan,

Could you please clarify what you have tried and what exactly does not work?
What request do you send to the server and what response do you get back?

  • Hello Serhii. For the pieType, the below fields work when using a radio button:

    text: Dividend #1
    ng-model: pieType2
    ng-value: "Dividend #1"

Because 4 radio buttons take up a lot of real-estate on the app, I wanted to change to using the select option creating a drop-down list to select the options. The only difference is the "Value" property.

I wrote in sequential order, first option, second option, third option, fourth option.

    Text: Dividend #1
    Value: first option
    ng-model: pieType2
    ng-value: "Dividend #1"

Because the user can pick more than one option, I wanted to include 2 fields either providing an amount or a percentage to include in each basket. I used the number code you provided me, that works perfectly when I run it on the server,

    var number1 = parseInt(request.get("number1"));

but as you can see in my attachment, when I run the app, the field is empty. The bottom line is from running on the server code page.

I get no error message when I run the code or the app. So I'm guessing it's something very easy to fix. Just don't know enough coding to know exactly the problem.

  • Please provide us with the screenshot of the code, which calls that Server Code.
Please be sure you send that value to the Server Code (you can check it here, in the code, which is calling the Server Code service).
Just print the value of the variable pieType2 to the console or to the alert

  • We need to know the code (on the app side), which calls that Server Code. It seems you don't send it in the request

Sorry for the late reply Serhii. Was trying to see if I could fix myself. And I don't know how to send you the code.

I read someone talked about a 9 digit code and also couldn't find the below information on the appery.io webpage.

    https://docs.appery.io/docs/teams-sha...

The below link also says that the share function has been removed.

    https://getsatisfaction.com/apperyio/...

Is this below enough or do you need me to send screen prints of the code from the source side of the app interface?

Hello again Serhii. Hopefully the below screen prints will help.
