I’m frustrated

tiggzi editor down, hanging on connection to collaboration server - no message.

Tiggzi editor down, hanging on the connection to the collaboration server. No message to that effect on the home page. There is a message about 4h scheduled downtime a couple of days ago, but info on this incident is missing.

  • This is not a downtime message. The message indicates the was a problem connecting to collaboration server. Most likely just a minor Internet connection disruption, right at that moment.

If there are no other users working with you on the same project, it's OK to turn on collaboration.

  • Well, the effect was that the editor could not start. I tried and retried for many hours. To the end user that constitutes down time ;) I missed to write that, since to me it is an of course, to try several times before logging an error report.

At the end of the working day, at a whim, I tried with Chrome instead of Firefox, and the it worked again. I went back to Firefox, and it still did not work. I quit firefox and started firefox again. After this it worked in firefox again.

So in conclusion I believe that there is a chance it was the flash plugin in my firefox that had gotten sick. This could be a flash error in your editor or something in the environment, I really have no experience in that area.

With collaboration being an optional feature you could perhaps consider making the collaboration server connection no blocking for start up. But if you have to choose between making a non-flash editor or move to an HTML5 based editor, I probably vote for the latter.

I cannot find the "turn off collaboration" (I guess you mean to say) that you talk about.

    Cheers,
