I’m frustrated

UI Changes Are Not Saved

Hi I've reverted all my changes in the source code (deleted it and select Undo all source changes) but my app is still not updating in the build.

I have also tried the section under "Known Issues"
Workaround
Please try the following:

Sign out from Appery.io.
Clear the cache and cookies for Appery.io.
Close browser without saving session.
Open Appery.io App Builder and try again.

But still no luck when building.

Any advice??

(App name: DuplidotMobileApp)

Thank you

  • Hello Marguerite,

    Could you please clarify which browser do you use? And could you please outline the exact steps of how to reproduce such behavior in your Appery.io project?

  • Hi Illya

    I'm using Chrome but also tried it on Safari today for the first time. In the browser the changes are made but in the apk or ipa the changes haven't been saved.

    So I added the code to upload my ipa to Apple but then I had to make changes. After I made the changes I remembered that I should revoke the changes in the source code.

    What I changed was I removed a popup and edited a JS on click from open popup to execute. The code is still the same in the app and I also deleted the popup from the UI but when building the app and testing it the popup still comes up.

    I cleared my cache and restarted my MacBook, tried from an iMac but it's all the same. No changes are saved in the binary.

  • Hello Marguerite,

    Could you please clarify, when you make changes in your app and then click save button and close your project, do you see these changes when you open your project for the next time?

  • Yes the changes are still in the project.
    As soon as I build the app the changes are reverted in the build but are still in the project.

    Also selecting Undo all source changed isn't working. It isn't even restoring the files I've deleted.
    • Could you please point out the exact page/pop-up in your App that we can use as an example of this issue which we can freely change?

      You can delete the whole folder in the Source view not just specific files - this way the complete files tree refreshing is happening on the server. Some files are templates and they won't be deleted after refreshing.

  • Under the following pages:
    Pages/JobDetails/Tasks/StartTask
    and Pages/JobDetails/Tasks/Contributing/StartTask_clone_1

    Both when selecting accept the popup 127 opens to confirm. When selecting confirm the following should happen when fingerprint is a success :

    var timestamp = localStorage.getItem('Time');
    Appery('start_timestamp').text((timestamp));
    ACCEPT_updateservice_clone_1.execute({});
    },

    What use to happen was close popup 127 and open popup 139.
    You will see the popup element is still under page StartTask_clone_1 but I have already deleted it from page StartTask.

  • Please clarify how was page StartTask_clone_1 had been initially created?

    I've created the App backup and was able to delete the pop-up screen from page StartTask. It's more convenient to use a web preview before exporting the App binary to see if the changes had been made on the page.

    >>> You will see the popup element is still under page StartTask_clone_1 but I have already deleted it from page StartTask.

    If the page StartTask_clone_1 was duplicated from the page StartTask it will include the pop-ups that were initially there.

  • I duplicated StartTask for StartTask_clone_1
    At the time I still needed the popup. Deleting the popup wasn't the issue. It's that it still opened even when there was no event to open the popup.

    The changes are working now though, thank you.
