I can't set up my Suddenlink pop3 email on my iPhone 3g. Always get "the connection to the server pop.suddenlink.net failed. I think the settings are right because I no longer get an incorrect user / password error. Anyone able to set up Suddenlink email?

Here are step by step instructions on how to set-up your iPhone to work with Suddenlink pop 3 servers.

1) From your iPhone desktop, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars

2) Select your Suddenlink email account and remove it by scrolling down and tapping the Delete Account button

3) Tap "Add Account" and select "Other"

4) Enter the appropriate answer for each box:
Name: Your Name
Address: your-email@suddenlink.net
Password: yourpassword
Description: Is the nickname for the account, this can be whatever you like

5) Tap Save to continue

6) On the New Account screen, select POP

7) Scroll down to Incoming Mail Server and enter the following:
Host Name: pop.suddenlink.net
User Name: your-email@suddenlink.net
Password: yourpassword (may already be entered)

8) Scroll down to Outgoing Mail Server and enter the following:
Host Name: smtp.suddenlink.net
User Name: youremail@suddenlink.net
Password: yourpassword (may already be entered)

9) Tap Save to continue

10) Tap "Yes" for any boxes that pop up saying "Cannot Connect Using SSL"

Your phone will then verify your account information and you should be able to check your messages.

At this point, if you receive any errors, you should contact the Suddenlink technical support. You will need to verify with them that you have the correct username and password entrered. Their technical support number is: 1-888-822-5151, and they are open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.
