I read through the previous posts on this topic but didn't see where the problem got answered. I created the map on my desktop and saved it. Then I use the link in the email to open it on my Android browser, but the page shows up blank. I just gives the title with a empty beige box where map should be. How do I get the map to show up?

What version of Android or what browser in Android are you using? We have tested on a number of different Android phones and have not seen this issue...

It's Gingerbread 2.3.5. I'm using the browser that came on the phone. I think it's IE?

Two questions:

1) Do you receive a prompt asking you to "find the nearest location"?

2) Do you have location services enabled on your phone?

I do receive that prompt. I figure thats whats holding it up, but the same thing happens if I select NO on the location prompt .
I do have location services active.
I downloaded firefox & it works with that.

I am not sure then, I am testing with a 2.2 Android Samsung phone and it appears to work properly. Is there any way to update your phone? 2.2 is pretty old, they are on to versions 4+ now:

I have/had this same problem on an HTC EVO running latest stock version of android (no low level tweaks on my part) on Sprint. I created a private map, both with and without "nearest location" prompt. Same results (grey box, no map) whether using built-in browser or Dolphin Mini browsers. Map loads fine on my PC and on both an iPhone and a Moto Razr (both Verizon). Switched to Opera, works fine!!

Are you seeing a header bar when the map comes up? If you touch on the title in the header does the map show?

I'm having the same issue on a Galaxy Nexus running Jelly Bean (4.1.1). I use Dolphin Browser.

Now, if I go into the settings for Dolphin Browser an change the "user agent" setting from "android" to "iphone", effectively telling your map that I'm on an iphone and not an android device, the map comes up and zoomed to the "nearest location".

So, it seems that your map page doesn't play nice with android but does with iOS.
Hope that helps. Actually, it DOES play nice on android devices if it thinks that device is an iPhone. The nice thing about that is that at least we know it will work on an Android device. Maybe there is something in your web site mapping code that can be tweaked to just treat all mobile devices as if they were iPhones.

We are trying to use your service to help people using mobile devices get to the nearest voting center for this upcoming 2012 election. If we can get this to work for Android handsets as well as iOS devices, this will be a great help to our effort.

I operate on a Sprint Motorola Photon and am not able to pull up the map. I get the link sent to my email (batchgeo.com/map/e2ca1d9022e4e8c34710039d27f22765). When I click on the link, I'm asked if batchgeo wants me find the closest location (my GPS is also turned on at this point).

After I click "OK," I only get a blank screen with the title of my map. Any ideas?

I also can not see the map on Android Emulator. Needed for a client users to locate nearest store (92 stores in Australia).

Using Android Emulator (4.1.2)

If I click on one of the categories down below it will then zoom in to that area, but still not show nearest location.

iPhone works perfectly, showing the Store name, contact details etc - and definately the nearest to your location.

Come on Batch Geo - lift your game...

Its currently too difficult for us to support all Android 2.3 phones. Keep in mind this version of Android is 2 years old. We are able to see it working properly on all the Android 2.3 phones we can get our hands on.

Andrew - if you email the map url to phillip@batchgeo.com we can take a look on Android 4.1.2

Thanks for the effort to make a great app even better~!

Yes, I'm still having problems as of 02-23-2013. Symptoms are as everybody else has described.

HTC EVO 4 G with Android 2.3.5, and (I think) factory installed browser: WebKit 533.1

No luck when I click on the map title in the upper left corner of the screen as suggested.

Here's a map url:
http://batchgeo.com/map/5078617f81d64...

I checked for any & all updates to firmware and software, turned on GPS and did a restart... still no luck. Should I try a bigger hammer ;-)

Thats good Mark - unfortunately Android's 2.3 version is just too old to support for the most part, but Opera is a great workaround
