Dynamically updating maps

Can you accept a data feed, perhaps XML, in order for maps to be updated dynamically? What we have is a number of buildings, each with a number of defects. As the number of defects changes, we would want a map embedded in our website to show an up-to-date 'defect map'.

Greetings, batchgeo community! I hope you can help me with a question I have...

I work for a small service repair shop, but we have a national footprint. Oftentimes we need to direct a customer to a local repair shop and our current method is to call up yellowpages.com and try and find something close to the customer. I pointed this out, and my boss asked me to build a map pinpointing all of the shops we have worked with in the past (we've kept a record) so we can look at the customer's address, and find a repair shop close by.

So I did some searching, found BatchGeo, messed around with our data, and created a map! It looked sweet! I showed my boss and she said, "Ok, it looks good. How often does it update?"

Is there a way I could upload the data automatically?

+1 to this feature, any hints on how it will be implemented? Ideally I'd like it to dynamically read the data from a tab separated variable file (.TSV) or KML file from a custom URL location each time the map is accessed?

In addition to dynamic data feeds from CSV or XML, integration with a Google Docs spreadsheet would be fantastic...

When you create a google form the results are placed in a google spreadsheet. If that spreadsheet was linked to batchgeo you could update your map via a google form. That would be really useful!

Don't tell BatchGeo, but I'd pay bigtime for GDocs integration.

Ditto! There's all kinds of applications that would be enabled with this and it seems like it would be so simple!

Hi

I need to be able to sync my maps to a database or have a method of automatically refreshing the data behind my maps. Is this possible

How about the ability to remove points via the pin popup?
I have routes that dynamically change HOURLY and several drivers to coordinate..
It gets a bit crazy, halfway thru the day. As rarely are stops added, but there are often ones that are dropped.
Some stops are higher priority, and have a time constraint, requiring immediate attention.

Ooh- another wishlist item:
Perhaps integration with InstaMapper, to allow drivers to see where their teammates are?

Ability to remove a point by clicking on it in the edit menu is definitely in the feature plan...

Can I tie my batch geo maps to my database? So whenever my table changes it will show up on the map as well?

My company uses multiple batch geo maps for our multiple sales territories, and we provide the links to our sales reps across Canada for use on their ipads. The problem is that our targets are frequently changing, e.g. in a week's time some may be removed, added, or edited. It is very cumbersome to have to frequently update the minor changes to our maps on a weekly basis, is there any way to automate this process? Perhaps syncing it to our online database (http://quickbase.intuit.com/) ?

I've got a list of thousands of zip codes I'd like plotted from a SQL Server query, not from a spreadsheet. Does batchgeo integrate with .asp, .php, .net pages, so a db can be used ?

I'd pay big time for GDoc integration. http://www.mapalist.com/ is already doing it, for free, but it's missing some things I like in BatchGeo.

I've been using MapAList for a few months now, but am sorely sad that it only updates every day at midnight instead of per-update.

My current setup for people adding themselves to a map is:

My site has embedded Google Form that fills out a GoogleDoc Spreadsheet.
I get a daily digest email of all updates to the Spreadsheet.
MapAList.com updates the map overnight.
That map is posted elsewhere on my site.

Possible solution is to create a macro in Automator.app of:
TRIGGER: email of update to spreadsheet.
THEN: open browser to MapaList, click on "update" button.

Hmmm... this is a not-too-elegant way of it doing what I want, but I might give it a shot... Next up, figuring out how to send an auto-response to people who fill out the GoogleForm, and how to sync the spreadsheet to MailChimp and Batchbook.

Searched the web all day long with no answer. My question is if batchgeo can use a dynamic database. Users from my system will add several new coordinates daily, so uploading a new file every time is not an option. I have the budget if a professional plan is needed.
