Best Buy would not replace a defective Kobo even with it's original box and receipt

I have purchased 3 Kobo e readers from Best Buy. One of them began showing grey lines on it which makes it impossible to read. After Googling it, I realized it is quite a common problem with them. After reading many posts, I found out that many people returned them to Chapters without any problem. When I tried to return it to Best Buy, with it's original box and receipt, the girl would not replace it, she said I would need to go through Kobo.
I will never purchase anything at Best Buy again!
